The Specialty Provider Portal serves a two-fold purpose: it’s a touch-point for providers to schedule medication delivery and manage holds, and an important sales team tool, showcasing the capabilities of a larger suite of products and services.
Travelers has been in business for over 160 years and are now competing in a marketplace with startups like Lemonade and advertising heavy-hitters like Progressive and Geico. My role was to help find inroads to new markets and customers through design thinking and innovation.
This is a story about a clash between user needs and business goals. As I finished conducting my first round of interviews, my main takeaway was that none of the users had faith in a new web tool to help them do their jobs.
